On the first day of the arrival of Khali , India 's Minister for Industries Raja Veerbhadra Singh invited Khali to his Ministry in New Delhi and honored him with the title 'Steel Man of India' on behalf of the ministry of steel Govt of India.
Police training & research center Gurgaon organized a warm welcome for Khali and established an ATM machine in the name of Khali. Director General of Police Haryana Mr. Ranjeev Singh Dalal,IPS awarded Dalip Singh and Amit Swami at the Haryana Police Academy (Madhuban) A warm welcome was organized at city Shimla where Mr. Anurag Thakur(Son of Chief Minister Prof Pram Kumar Dhumal) who is also Member Parliament announced free land on behalf of Govt of Himachal Pradesh for Khali to establish a sports Academy. At the city of Jalandhar an open Punjab State bodybuilding championship was organized in which Khali was the chief guest & Padma Shri Kartar Singh,IPS(Secretary General Wrestling Federation of India) was guest of honor, former DGP Punjab Police Mr. M.S.Bhullar and former Minister Mr. Avtar Hanery were special guests. Chief Minister of Maharashtra Mr. Ashok Chouhan organized a special welcome at C.M house at Mumbai. Where Khali participated in Peace Run to tribute all those innocent people who died during terrorist attack last year on 26/11.On the special invitation of Mr. B.K.Gupta IPS-Director General of Tihar prison in Delhi(Asia's biggest prison) where more then 12000 prisoners wanted to see Khali. Amit Swami accompanied Khali during this special visit to Tihar prison and motivated prisoners to adopt the good path in life and to give up from anti-social activities. In the city Rewari (home town of Amit Swami) Khali got a unique honor when the Municipal Council named a main road after Khali. Cabinet Minister Haryana Capt. Ajay Singh Yadav inaugurated the road in the name of ‘ Great Khali Road ’. In the whole tour thousands of fans gathered everywhere where Khali arrived. Khali is the World's tallest bodybuilder with a height 7.3 Khali's two Hollywood films ‘The Longest Yard’ & ‘Get Smart’ were quite successful. This year, another Hollywood film ‘Tree of Life’ is going to be released soon.
